I figure that for this pic Nick and Josh were sent to a conference or seminar by the company they work at. The seminar was being held near the coast a few hours  from their homes, so they decided to take a trip to the beach during their free time. Nick was apprehensive about going to the beach due to his condition, but Josh managed to convince him that they'd have a great time.
