Gallery Rework - Hazelnut Latte (Patreon)

Howdy everyone!

Some updates on where I am at with the game.

Today was a day of figuring out and tweaking. It's also my Monday, so I purposefully didn't give myself a crazy and unobtainable task.

I went to work on the list of suggestions I got from everyone. Which, again, thank you! It was awesome to get all that feedback!

I've going to work tweaking the gallery.

My idea is that you will go to this screen. From here, you can click on a specific character or click on either the image or replay galleries. These will act like normal and show you everything.

But, if you click on a character...

You get their bio! I'm thinking this will change over time and maybe include more stuff like stats on how many times you've done stuff. But it also includes some little facts about them. (if you're wondering about height, Kokman and I are debating it right now) From here, you can click on the image or replay gallery, and it will show you character specific results!

Our goal is to also have a filter so you can select between episodes.

We will NOT be adding in hints. The hints will be filtering the gallery screen by episode and character. I still want to encourage self discovery and gaming. I hide these things for a reason. If you want to help each other (or become a $15+ backer and get a walk through) that is fine with me. But in the game I won't be helping you.

This is just how it will look, we still need to code this and implement it.

For anyone wondering why Dave is labelled as 'OTHER' that is because he is a side character, and not a main love interest. That category will show all the side characters.

But if we get enough I may have that OTHERS tab just bring you to a new screen with smaller icons and all the side characters we've amassed. For now, it'll just lump them all together.

I also made it so that when big moments happen the game will tell you that a character will remember something with a popup and chime.

It's similar to getting a notification that you unlocked a gallery image, but I increased the text size for all notifications.

This will hopefully clue in people to things that may come back later.

There were people who wanted to know exactly what choices did, and I don't want that. I want you to explore and make mistakes. But, I will let you know when something important has happened.

And I also got new sprites from Kokman today and turned those into images to use in game.

But I'll post that tomorrow for backers ;)

That is all I got to today! Some nitty gritty stuff, but I think this gallery rework will lead to the game being even better for it in the long run.
