I liked this one for the most part, the highway scene is just 13 plus minutes of fun action to me. Unsure if you will check it out but they mention at the beginning of the movie the Osiris. its the ship that discovers the machines tunneling to Xion. they made a bunch of short vids called Animatrix that is pretty good. One of the stories is The last flight of the Osiris. worth a watch if you want more lore of the matrix universe in animated form.

I don't think Reloaded is better, a younger me would've agreed with you, but an older me appreciates the masterpiece that is the first one. Don't get me wrong, Reloaded action is just incredible (minus the cgi stuff not aging all too well for me) and the way it was shot is beautiful, but the original idea, story, and choreography was amazing and ahead of its time. Btw the stunt coordinator for The Matrix, Chad Stahelski, went on to create another incredible story with John Wick. Also The Keymaker plays the doc in Wick AND your favorite, Master Oogway.
