The fight had raged on for hours with still no end in sight. Even with Ruby, Yang, Summer, and Raven fighting Salem on her own, they couldn’t close the gap to bring her down. Whenever it seemed like victory was close, Salem would push them back again.

It also didn’t help that the fight had a time limit. Salem had started a ritual to fuse the four relics together into one that she promised would seal her victory. Unfortunately, that time came all too soon.

The flash had been blinding, forcing the warriors for good to shrink back and cover their eyes. Once the glare cleared, they looked to see Salem holding a simple sphere. The four relics created by the brother gods had been reduced to a smooth, featureless sphere. It was a shock, but not as much as the one that came when Salem swallowed the sphere whole.

Salem sighed, satisfied. “Now, let’s bring this to an end.” She smirked before a large pulse of aura emitted from her. The force was like a shockwave and knocked the four huntresses back. “I will take all of Remnant in one fell swoop. Your efforts were wasted, but I promise your end won’t be too terrible.”
