Pausing Patreon for a bit + Life update! (Patreon)

Hey everyone,

Cryo here! If you've followed me on socials you probably know that I've been struggling with employment (and self-employment) and just generally not having a great time this year, and if not, well, you do now :D 

I quit my soul crushing 3D art job in 2017 and loved being a freelance creator.  But a combination of living in expensive cities beyond my means, relationship crumbling, pandemic, Brain Stuff and the general state of the world just seem to have converged together and it became clear that things couldn't keep going on like that.

 So I've been trying to get back into gamedev, but making 2D art this time - something I always loved but was discouraged from pursuing at the start of my career because it's hard. And...it was. It was super hard, especially at my age and experience level where I don't qualify for trainee positions. I've done countless art tests and interviews and at some point I gave up on art and started applying for cleaner positions in Stockholm (also rejected, btw)

Anyway, the good news is that 5 minutes away from moving back in with my parents I got a job in Berlin and it looks cool and fun and I can't wait to start. I hope to finally regain my financial independence and be able to buy merch and travel to conventions and have aspirations beyond affording the bare minimum. I also got some help with the Brain Stuff while in Stockholm and I hope this will make holding down a full-time job a little easier :D

This does mean that the comic might go on another hiatus - I want to keep working on it when I can, but obviously other things have to take priority and I don't want to stress about this stuff. So I'm putting Patreon on a break - maybe a month, maybe two. We'll see how it goes! I hope it won't be long. Mostly I'm just doing this for my own peace of mind :)
