Damn, you’ve been watching 47 episodes of this Arc so far, which is more than a third of everything you’ve watched from HxH

2024-02-28 03:01:45 If you listen to how the names are pronounced by the characters it makes it easier to know how to say them. Gyro is written ジャイロ or ジャ(Ja) イ(I) ロ(Ro), Jairo. In English we use it in words like Gyroscope but, similar to Gon's dad Ging, it isnt a normal G sound but a J sound instead.

If you guys are having trouble remembering backstories from the same arc, One Piece is gonna hit you guys like a truck later on into the series XD. I think something that helps me to remember is talking about stuff after watching it. If you guys decided to do a little bit more discussion either after the main reaction of the video or as a separate recording it will probably help you guys to remember more key details. A lot of people do post arc discussion videos where they go over their favorite/least favorite parts of an arc and also just the details and what was added to the story. I think since you guys don't really do that the only time you have to go back to to remember details is when you actually saw them in the episode so they don't stick as well.

I love the discussion in the end— because eventually, that discussion will make sense especially the word “detour” Togashi is GOAT 🔥

Dude I gotta say that I love these 10 minutes discussions after the reaction because I love HxH, and seeing you guys trying to figure out things and analyzing the nuances of the show is fun to watch. And Ron you're right, Chimera Ant arc feels lika a complete different show, but each arc in HxH is like this. Like, the auction arc has a complete different vibe from the Hunter Exam arc, and so the Greed Island too. What makes HxH so special for me is that the arcs are written almost like stand alone stories, but there's this subtle and thin line that unify all them into a solid and cohesive story.

Ameth

This is why Chimera Ant arc is goated, youre right this arc has only been like 30 episodes but its such a large portion of the show. This arc introduced freshly not even really building off previous plot points had no right being just so good when it's not even the main meta plot of the show. I mean, technically it is because it ended up being so big and most people think of this arc when they think of the show.

Ameth

I think the similarity between Gyro and Wolfin is because Gyro was his non-blood related brother. So if they had the same dad, maybe that's why their memories are similar cuz its the same dad? You're caught up to where I'm at so I only have speculation at this point in time, no spoilers or pretending to not know but really saying what it is.

Prateek Sridhar

Pa Peak!!! P.S. I'm a gamer and anime lover, but I have the distinct feeling Im gonna be dropping one of those as I grow older. But as long as yall reacting to anime on patreon and/or gaming on twitch, Imma prolly stick around (maybe, possibly, noone can predict the future :p)

Saith Uchiha

I have a phobia of parasites so yeah this was nasty

Saith Uchiha

Remember welfin said the Royal Guards put a women in a cocoon and they call it #1.

Jake Turner

When the Gyro (sounds like gyroscope) episode happened, some comments noted that the gyro storyline was kind of dropped by the show (cuz they didn’t have time to flesh it out, I think). Some characters have connections to gyro, like Ikalgo and Welfin, but his character isn’t addressed by the show. Togashi, the author, 100% has ADD hahahaha. I have no idea what he was writing about Welfin and that woman. (It could be another thing that was explained more in the manga but 🤷‍♂️). I feel like sometimes he just writes things that sound deep to make it seem like these characters do have more to their stories. Just weird to make a point of them and not explain them or make them relevant to the plot. I don’t hate it though, I do feel like it makes characters more sympathetic even if I don’t understand hahaha Also Palm in the cocoon has been hinted at, but you guys thought it was something with Kite before. This is the “selection process” that “5% of the strongest humans may survive”. I really had no idea what was happening first time I saw it either but on rewatch it’s like oh I guess they did set that up lol

eric

not gyro period

Daamon

Dont worry. A lot of things will be explained later. Meanwhile, if you wanna remind yourself of Gyro's story, the first part of episode 80 is the one to check😁

Boosted Inferno

Next episode is peak when u go into depth analysis about relationship. Can’t wait for ur reaction and own conclusion.

Phyllis

Welfin just had a similar past as Gyro. The story said their past selves were comparing with each other whose past was more tragic.

Boosted Inferno

In some interviews from 2020 and 2022 he mentioned that gon and gyro will meet 100% in the future, but when speaking about the current state of the manga it’s unlikely that we would ever reach this point.

Leandro Testoni

You guys really are something else. I'm amazed myself that this is the first time you are watching, 'cause you're getting so much of it, and having such deep toughts. Thanks. Also: There are some things that the 2011 HxH anime adaptation altered from the manga. One one of them was the built of Gon and Kite relationship. Kite appears on manga vol. 1. He is the first person that appears. The intro character is Kite. A few pages after he shows up again to save Gon, being the first person that does that in the show. (the same way he did in the anime, at the whale island, but having he showing up on episode 1 really build something else to him). So, right now, Gon is only focused on making Pitou bring Kite back. Since Kite fought Pitou and allegbly died, Gon's focus is on his savior and friend. Being this the first time that a real master befriend with him, instead of seeing him as "only" a brilliant student. And he is a Ging's student, so Gon must be doing something really right to be rewarded with meeting Kite. And that also builds up to his actual deep moment in the anime. + I love to see Welfin development and how honest he is when telling about his friendship with Gyro. By what we've saw of them and how Welfin looks up to Gyro, it's safe to assume that their relationship of admiration is simillar to Gon and Killua. It's really something else when he tells Ikalgo that he is tired of everything, that the only thing he wants is to see Gyro one more time, without even knowing if he is reborn as a ant and even if he would remember his human life. Brilliant development to a not even a secondary character. Togashi is GOAT.

Damien Lee

The premise is Gon trying to find his dad, who is a hunter. So Gon going around having encounters perfectly fits the story. So I don't understand why it doesn't make sense to you. In fact, if you think back to what Kite described Gon's father to be like, the kind of hunter he is, fighting rare creatures makes even more sense that fighting the spiders. In fact, even Frieren's story is like this. A bunch of people on a journey, and getting into encounters. Just that HxH's encounters are much much more in depth

Jay rellim

welfin: my dad strangled me while a woman watched gyro: my dad abused me and ignored me all my life, some stranger was beating me to death bc i defended my dad's honor. i noticed my dad was watching me get wrecked and kept walking like he didnt know me i think they both deal with dad issues and being beat up by someone lol but that's about it

Jay rellim

also the anime skips over it, but much earlier in the manga it was revealed Gyro was reborn as an ant, then left NGL because "out of the countless soldiers born, just one... possessed will power and determination so great, the queens command had no impact and he acted upon his own will" he also kept all his memories bc of his determination for evil lol. last time we see him in the manga is him walking through the town killua and gon are in while training to fight knuckle. they never met, gyro left and disappeared. "whether that was fortunate or not, it will remain unknown until they eventually meet". sounds like gyro is the exact same person but just got an upgraded chimera ant body lmao (but also lost his army in ngl so fair trade)

Susanom

The story is way too stretched as is, we don't need the walls and walls of text the manga has.

Jay rellim

i and many others would disagree, but ofc many would agree with you 👍

Gjermund Norum Bugge

Palm was confirmed captured earlier in the arc, you guys just did not quite pick up on it as it was said, because it was not specifically stated to be palm. You guys speculated what they might have been talking about back then, but did not realize they were talking about palm. It's a while back at this point

Michelle Lam

we will be watching anime/gaming for life! I would be gaming a lot more, just comes down to time right now. ON top of that, I cant imagine the games in like 10, 20 years!

Jake Turner

Yeah I didn’t wanna include that because it seems like a bit of a spoiler

Vicente

Yoo my road is fm 2230 🤣

botanbutton

Next episode, one of my faves (out of the many).

Nick Obeso

In this arch, the hunters are being hunted. I’m sure other people have commented but the premise of the show is literally the title. Gon is trying to hunt his father down, and to become worthy of finding him he needs to be a better hunter. These encounters are necessary for gon and the story, it isn’t random haha!

Kokyloco7

Rewatching this just makes me sad what Togashi did to his franchise smh could of been records lol

I’m me

I remember that scene Ron saying it was kite and the look on his face like he was so sure it was kite lol

The Shadow

He wasn´t the leader of NGL. He was just a soldier. If I am correct we never see the ant of the NGL leader. But there are plenty of theories who he might be.

BAM

If you're still making content when you're 90, I'll be there.

Michael H

I think Togashi had some big plans for him, but with all his health problems, I doubt anything will come of it. It does make the episode of Gyro’s past a pretty random hanging plot thread, though.

Avishai Pinckney

You have to think, if you are gonna run away and join an underground drug mafia that’s trying to destroy the world. Chances are you didn’t have a very good childhood and you probably share that in common with your comrades.
