Unlike many anime which you can watch without worrying about what is left out and still understand everything they do show, Slime just doesn't have room for all the supporting information. It's not so much plot but lore, themes, character backstories, political and economic background, the workings of the World and Skills, worldview, common knowledge and so on are left out. And there's a bit of variation between different people's understanding of what's left out (and what's not), so there are some conflicting comments. One of the biggest topics where that happens so far is about demons. I myself think it's confusing. Also power scaling is a big one.
