thorbaccha

im surprised yall hopped on it quick! dope this is what put Korea on the map for their mangas (manhwas)

gdnsx

does anybody know if they rearranged the events for episode 1 around? like them showing the raid in the first 5 minutes?

Tony Wallace

Been waiting to watch this allllllll daaaaayyyyyy

KCZ

The webtoon is icroyable!!!

Rik De Greef

The animation was better than I expected, I had to finish the manga after this episode! As always I like the reaction.

Taka

LETS GO so excited for you two experiencing this gem for the first time

Jboo

sajme lol the animation was really good seemed way better then the trailer

Jboo

is that my goat kenpachi zarakis va from bleach va for the red hair s class guy

Raden

Hopefully this show lives up to the unbelievable hype it's getting. Excited to see if it does

Wingsxofxfreedom

Just watched it. So far definitely looks like it's going to be good

Carmen Villanueva

OMG can’t believe yall are watching it!!! ahh read the manhwa so im super excited to see if they animated it good🤭

nicosded

Excited to see this series along with you guys. The manwha had a lot of hype around it, but I never tried reading so I hope it's as good as I think it'll be. In addition, I know you guys have a suggestions channel in your discord, but if you love rpg/fantasy anime. You should def look into Log Horizon, Sword Art Online or even Magi (less rpg more fantasy)!

Brandocommando

Oh damn I didn’t think you guys would react to this but I’m here for it 👏🏽

FW

Manga and manhwas are kind of different but also the same

Anonymous

Is HxH and Slime still scheduled for today? Didn’t see any mentions about schedule change.

Vaer Lebox

manhwa and manga are very different in how they are made, manhwa are usually scroll down colored ones, manga are more black white frame/panel style. look at the first chapter of the solo leveling manhwa, you'll see what i mean :) its very different, not about who made it or where its released

Art

Peak Anime is here

Vaer Lebox

manhwa have two very popular topics right now, one being "the strongest" (wether martial artist, best player of a vr game or whatever) gets reincarnated or starts from the bottom, and one being the game becomes reality (similar to solo leveling but here the monsters dont originate from a game). those are the biggest genre i guess.

kai

y’all definitely gone love this the story is kinda meh but the action is top notch

Logan

Solo leveling is amazing! Ive read the manhwa and it has never been boring. Always hype and the fights are top notch! You guys are gonna love it for sure!

Ehonzian

im hype for this ill be watching it with you guys having not read or seen any of it

Karaka

If you ever wanna dive into more Anime that was adapted from Manhwa, you should also start Tower Of God. It’s been confirmed for a Season 2 in July

errol lancer

man...watching the first episode made me want to read the manga again

Thamor

As everybody posting these, this is clearly been spammed to all people who do reactions to anime. As so many posting episode 1 instantly when it drops.

Mu Nanyo

Yeah, you guys nailed the analysis. Solo leveling isnt complex or deep and it borrows a lot of tropes. But it is a hype, power fantasy that spoils us with cool characters and impressive fights. It will be a fun ride. Sung Dripwoo is a beast

Karaka

Also, the only difference between Manhwa & Manga is of course the language (if it’s translated from Korean it’s a Manhwa). But also, in Manhwa you’re meant to read from the left to right but in Manga you read from the right to left. Other than that, they’re both graphic novels

Yumaaa

#snortqueen is back XD

Anonymous

Its gonna be soooo goooooooood. HYPE

Mu Nanyo

I was thinking about the Guild leaders and his “companions” designs moreso, dont want to get into specifics. But yeah not the deepest character progression outside of the MC

GD LoreRiley

Any ethnicity can write manga or manwha it just has to be in the same format and also manga is meant for paper while manwha is meant for cellphones and have color

Sid M

Solo Leveling was one of my first manwahs. It's a good read. I liked it so much I also read the novel

Ahupnatun

Tower of God is another good manwha into anime adaption that you guys should add to your next poll for watching next. The second season will be starting in July 2024. So would be a good one to watch at some point before then.

volociti

I loved the animation everyone was worried about it but it's actually really good

SoySauce

Ngl, based on the trailer I assumed it was going to be very mid. So glad this first episode proved me wrong. Idk if I can wait for ep 2.

Mike Adrian Estolas

What triggered this change in the world, gates opening? Tune in to Solo Leveling Season 3 anime, coming not so soon. Hahaha

Jordy_EMS

The Mc in Delicious in Dungeon is voiced by one of the people from Smosh and Marcille is voiced by Emily Rudd who played Nami in the One Piece la

Casper Rodriguez

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS TO FINALLY RELEASE! So happy it's you two that's watching this.

Damien Lee

Ron: Its just a goblin Goblin Slayer: 🙄

Prateek Sridhar

Been waiting for this! ive read the manhua and it was so good that the first time I sat down to read it and thought, let's read this for 30 minutes, I ended up binge reading it for 6 hours xD

Anonymous

Manga, Manhwa, and Manhua (Chinese). Cultural differences is one of the biggest differences I notice between them. As well as the way they cater to their target demographic.

Sparky

Sun drip woo finally makes his anime debut

Lady Kildragon

I've read the Manhwa and really enjoyed it. Planning on reading the novel as well. But for now, I'm all in on the anime.

Kate

For me personally, the 1st episode didn't hype me up but I'm willing to give this anime a chance

Tom Horza

Excited for this, I read all 179 chapters of the novel in like 2 days, seriously fire

Grim

all the questions you guys have will be answered if you just keep watching lol :P

Liana Pagodova

when you finish Frieren, just add one more episode of One Piece to that day it'd be perfect :)

Moji_340

Dude, ngl if you like these types of shows, you should try Shangri-La Frontier.

Minh Phạm

This is one of the best manhwas ever

B-Rai

Manhwas huh? First time hear bout that Currently watching the MHA reactions so I can wait next week for the new episode

J

Ron what is your favorite game? 🤔 if i could go back and play a game for the first time it would be elden ring

SirCatelot

manhwas are great, if your into mangas you really should check them out. Not counting Solo Leveling, Peerless Dad is my favorite

Christopher

I will warn you, 99% of all manhwas are the exact same just slightly different in some areas. They all got towers and regressors with system and higher beings lol. Obviously there are really good manhwa but there is more trash than there is good imo

Reina Panda

They decided to surprise us with watching the anime of my favorite manhwa of all time. So hyped for this. I read the entire novel and then the manhwa, now im watching the anime. Its like a full circle moment. RIP Jang Sung-Rak 🙏

Talisca

I still remember reading the novel back when there were so many similar korean novels coming out with a similar premise. It's interesting to see how this story has been made into an anime. I didn't imagine the temple to be so roundish. But so far I'm very excited about it.

Taiga

Same for me. It was really basic episode, reminded me of like SAO S1 (getting locked in a bossroom thing), but worse. I know the anime will get better though. If someone is new to anime, this episode will definitely feel hype for them, but not for anyone who has seen a 'game anime' or few Isekais.

Kate

Yeah, it reminded me of SAO as well, but then again SAO hooked me more in the 1st episode when I watched it haha. But my friend also told me solo leveling will get better

NamelessKing67

i waited so long for this anime the manwha was jusut peak i hope they treat this masterpiece with respekt and animate it as it deserves ep 1 looks clean

onew's falsetto

if yall love d&d you should watch vox machina. it is based on the actual play campaign from critical role. they are all voice actors and directors, etc. like the english va for levi, gaara, and roy mustang, etc. their second campaign, the mighty nein is being made into an anime too, and they are in the middle of their 3rd campaign of the series, bell's hells.

Michael H

I’m pretty cautious about this anime. The manwha is freakin’ amazing, but manwhas have a pretty terrible track record when it comes to their anime adaptations. I’m hoping for the best, but Solo Leveling should’ve gotten the royal treatment production-wise, and I’m definitely not seeing that with this first episode.

Moon

Oh y'all are in for a hell of a time with Solo Leveling if A1-Pictures does the manhwa justice. The plot, while true that it isn't as complex as those of the mangas-to-animes that you and many others are used to, still has a relatively decent depth to it, considering the fact that one wouldn't be able to guess it while following it week by week (when the manhwa was still being released chapter by chapter) hehe

Stanley Theodule

Goblin slayer wouldn't like that comment

June The Blunt

I'm appeased after seeing they haven't changed the names as it was said they would. I will be absolutely waiting for the next ep to drop.

Devante Vickers

You're kinda wrong my friend. Manhwa is only because its from Korea. There are some Manhwas in the form of Mangas, but they are still considered Manhwas. Korea just have their own personal style doesn't mean that style is automatically a Manhwa. There are even Japanese manga's in the form of Manhwas. So the classification is based off of location. Besides, both manga and manhwa just means "Comic" in their language.

Lauraa Rodríguez

the first healer that appeared was Itadori's Va! I saw the gears in your brain start to move hahahaha

David

This feels like SAO first season. I’m intrigued. 🤩

Christopher

Manhwas are great when u are new to them and first start reading, but after getting through a few u will quickly realise that they are all the same, mediocre story, prologue to make u feel for the mc and systems lol. What makes the good manhwas good are the art. Obviously some manhwas are really good bc of story etc, but most are rather disappointing. Kinda like anime/manga and isekai. Reused tropes with mediocre stories and some cool fights. (this isnt directed at solo leveling btw, never read it bc i was waiting for this)

Jahmilla

Saturdays are gonna be stacked, this, Apothecary Diaries, One Piece, and a Sign of Affection all came out or back! I’d defiently recommend Apothecary Diaries to replace Frieren (it came back on cour 2 after a brief break)

Wsgyan

You guys should watch a Korean series named bloodhounds I know y’all are gonna love it and especially Ron ahaha it’s only 8 episodes long so maybe check the trailer out !

Robert Franklin

If you like the modern setting mixed with a fantasy setting like this is, you probably would like the anime Gate.

mitsui

watch Sword Art Online, youll like it

B rub honeycomb

im suprised yall into Baldurs gate tbh lol

Xai Xiong

I literally cant wait for you two to experience this show!! One of my favorites and I think you both will love it, especially Ron.

Yoona Kim

is Korean manga called Manhwa or something idk

CE Ong

漫画 (man hua) - Chinese 漫画 (manga) - Japanese 漫畵 (man hwa) - Korean They are the same thing just called differently based on where the artist is based in, and clearly each has very distinct storyboarding/art styles :D

Art

Whatever you guys do don't watch Sword Art Online. Anime is boring as hell.

Phyllis

I watched Delicious in Dungeon 1st episode too and it's interesting take of cooking and dungeon element in anime. It's funny and like it. If you watched enough anime, you will definitely see lots of elements in this anime that you have watched in other anime. Nothing wrong about that if you are new. The setting reminds me of an anime called Gate which a fantasy world portal appears in the modern world, and humans and allies then have to defend against the monsters. As for rpg kind of genre, there are those like SAO Sword Art Online, Log Horizon, Overlord, Accel World, Shangri-la Frontier etc. There are some unique and old ones such as No game no life, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Hack//Sign etc.

Mu Nanyo

Bloodhounds was fun, have they ever mentioned watching Alchemy of Souls?

Randall Woods Jr

I remember when I first heard this manga was getting a anime adaptation a lot of people were excited so I read some of the manga before the anime came out I’m so excited to see it animated now btw if you guys are interested I read the story from Tapas which is a manga app to read many good genres I also use Webtoon as well.

Lailanie

I think the difference is the art style or the format. Mostly, the art style of the Manga is by panels and must be read from right to left, and is in black and white (except for few panels depending on the artist). In Manhwa, it is colored and the mostly the panels (or the storyboarding? I don't know what it's called ;D) are continuous and if you're reading thru your phone, it can be scrolled down. It's just my opinion don't hate me if I'm wrong. PS: Am I clear? I don't know if it's understood, English is not my first language. Lol. XD

Lailanie

True. I can name some of the manhwas I really liked. Have you read the Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint? It's one of my favorites after Solo Leveling.

Jordan

I completely missed you guys did this here wtf so happpy

Christine Copeland aka Christine's Culinary Quest

Ron's reaction to the explanation just makes me super excited to see y'all's reaction tto certain other anime in the future. But this was so interesting to watch because it tells things in a different order than the Manwha did in a few places and it changed how I viewed certain parts of the story. Like the differences emphasized and made you anticipate different things.

Karaka

Not necessarily, Manhwa have so many different categories. But I do admit that the ones that are all like Solo Levelling get very repetitive tho, including SL itself

nathes stevania

it would be nice seeing u guys react to the manhwa version of Solo Leveling. because it’s been years since the manhwa had released and it’s just 1-2 years? that the story ended. reading the manhwa gives u a better understanding and able to know the exact timeline of the story since in anime u got a glimpse of potential character before u get to the main story which might be confusing and overwhelming. but again it’s still the beginning of the anime so i’m not sure i can rate. but overall from the pacing of the timeline, this episode got me 3/5. i’m hyped but idk why they started with the top final incident in season 1 on the manhwa:) anyway enjoy✨

koza

y’all are the first YouTuber I bought a Patreon from 😭 ima continue I love the reactions

Christopher

Yes ORV is really good, prob my favourtie alongside infinite mage and priest of corruption

Akaiye

This is what danmachi should of been more like

Tyrek Humes

Orrrrr what if a Korean guy has kids with a Japanese woman and they have a kid that creates a graphic novel lmaooo

Rawaby 1204

I really hope you react for k dramas someday..even as a special thing like Hill’s house

Christine Copeland aka Christine's Culinary Quest

The question about Manwha and Manga got me curious. I ended up doing a search and found this interesting article on Manwha vs. Manga vs. Manhua (Koran vs. Japan vs. China). Feel free to read if you're curious. https://www.cbr.com/manga-manhwa-manhua-differences/

Nati Sabio

I need them to react to SAO. I also love Solo Leveling, so excited
