Really enjoying OP right now! Curious how this arc will play out compared to what we saw in the live action though!

They have like a 20 year anniversary special called episodes of east blue. Its just a really condensed version of the east blue saga with better animation, especially during some of the fights IE: zoro v milhawk and sanji vs gin

Sanji was trained by Zeff. Don't forget Zeff was called the Red-Leg during his pirate days. Because he only beat with his legs which were turning red from the blood of his enemies. This is also why he retired after isolation with Sanji. He was missing a leg to fight lol

as i understand it "dan" is like a level of black belt in Karate, once you reach black belt you begin to gain "dan" as you get better, so Kuroobi is saying his is a punch of a 40th level Black Belt in Fishman Karate

I love this arc so much, it's def my favorite in the East Blue saga. The Baratie arc (specifically when Mihawk pulls up and fights Zoro) is what got me hooked onto the show but man Arlong Park arc is what made me fall in love with this show

I dont know if you guys have noticed or heard already, but Zoro has literally No sense of direction. This also happened in the live action, but not in super obvious ways. Like when zoro climbed out of the well in the LA, he was walking the wrong way which is why he ran into the poisoned luffy. So he Will continue to get lost randomly in comedic ways 😅

At the moment Sanji is so strong because he learned from the best (Zeff) and trained a lot by fighting pirates who didn't want to pay their meals probably. There is another reason that will be revealed hundreds of episodes later. I believe dan as a measure for kicks here referes to levels in karate.
