Bending has nothing to do with genetics. Bending is kinda random, even if your parents are not benders you can still be a bender. Same thing with being twins or siblings in general. It’s all random kinda like having a daughter or a son.

I kinda agree with azula but zuko i think the casting was great but I don’t like the scar, it’s too small and his eye isn’t squinted like the show and his ear is also normal

I wouldn't say genetics has nothing to do with it. Genetics itself has randomness to it. Has long as the parents have certain genes, they can pass on traits to their children, but it's not 100%. Bending is just another traits. You may or may not inherit the powers. On that note, even identical twins can have differences in their DNA.

I wish to express that I agree with you on some level. After all, the avatar, master of all 4 elements can be born in all 4 nation and is the bridge between man and spirits according to episode 7. So if genetics were the only factor to bending abilities, how could the avatar master all 4 elements from all 4 nations. I personally believe that the bending energy exist outside of simple genetics, but aren't unrelated in terms of inheritance.
