That glowing commentator is Baka Prince from another series by Togashi, "Level E"! It's a monthly series written by Togashi between Yu Yu Hakusho and HxH. It only has 3 volumes (or 2 with revised version), and it's the best manga I've ever read in my entire life. They had anime adaptation to it but I don't like it, I hope you guys could read the manga because it's short so easier to read 😌 A brief background, Togashi was sick of drawing Yu Yu Hakusho because of his editor staff kept telling him to draw more fight, so he ended it abruptly and decided to create another series monthly by himself (without assistants and no editor staffs to tell him this and that), hence why that great manga has created. Its like peeking into Togashi's brain. HxH is also heavily influenced by that, but more shonen-friendly than Level E.

Among many things Hisoka wants. He literally just wants Gon to be at his peak so he can try and kill him. He gets a high from being able to kill really strong opponents. He basically sees Gons potential. Although his character is strange AF, he is very strong. What you saw, was Hisoka literally having a play fight.

Hisoka is a interesting character, a pervert, but also a teacher. So Gon managed to get so many experience in one fight.

Nope no special reveal about Hisoka. He's just a creep. But from a story perspective he's a interesting villain. That's probably why people have Hisoka stickers on their car. I still think it's weird and gross, and side-eye those folks, though.

I gotta say though, Namikawa Daisuke (Hisoka's VA) is probably one of the best VAs out there, his voice acting for Hisoka was immaculate, really pulled off the crazy/creepy motherfucker vibe so well. On top of that, the other characters he plays are nothing alike, such as Haganezuka (the blacksmith from demon slayer), Oikawa, and a lot of other characters from anime you haven't watched yet like Van Hohenheim from FMA, Jellal from Fairy tail, Anasui from JoJo and Esutass Kid from One Piece. Hell he even played another character in HxH who was very minor, that red nosed guy who got hit with a poisoned arrow in the beginning of the 4th phase of the hunter exams. You can never figure out it's him just from the voice, really incredible!

Hisoka is just weird, ya'll. He literally gets off on fighting strong opponents (this is exactly what it is, don't let no one tell you otherwise). It just so happens that his latest and most fervent obsession is Gon, a baby boy who obviously has endless potential. Which makes him, not sus, but definitely a pdf file. He's an extremely complicated but intriguing character, something Togashi is good at. He's a chaotic neutral that has no chill and plenty of fans love him for it. I would never get a Hisoka tattoo or car sticker tho, lmao.

I really like how HxH isnt conventional when it comes to its characters, like how the line between ''good'' and ''evil'' is blurred unlike most shows, in a lot of cases the characters doesnt fit exclusively into one of the two, ''gray'' is what most people describe the characters as. Its f***'ed up how Hisoka reacts to gons growth and potential, but his abnormality makes him a great character imo and its probably why a lot of people like him

First of all, I'm not defending Hisoka. He is sus as hell. But what does any of that have to do with being gay? The thing about Hisoka that is sus, is the pedo tendencies, not that he shows them towards someone of the same gender/sex. Also, why would you say "Normal person" when referring to someone who is not gay? It is perfectly normal to be gay. I think, instead of bringing gays into this, you should just focus on the actual problem, which is the pedo part. Even if you personally is not a fan of gay people, there is no reason to put them in the same category as pedos :/

the "lets get intimate" translation is a bit extreme. hisoka said nakayoshi which means to get along or to be friendly with each other. he just said it in a creepy tone. not trying to defend him though. it still gives off pedo vibes
