Wow, imagine getting eaten alive by tiny rabbits and not being able to die until they get to your brain… 😬 Btw in the web novel they get super descriptive with what Subaru is feeling and how the bunnies are eating him which is super gore-y but interesting. As for your question about where Subaru is during those tea parties, it’s weird to explain but it’s in his mind. He gets transported into a different area/realm while inside the graveyard where Echidna is sealed. You can only be transported in this realm while inside the graveyard. While it may be happening inside Subaru’s mind, it is very much real

This anime loves to sprinkle bits and pieces of info throughout the show and they call back to it at random times and it makes you think “WOW, it was in front of me the entire time.” Also, this show is going to be pretty long. The anime has covered 4 arcs (season 1 is arcs 1-3, season 2 is arc 4), and the author said that the novel is going to be either 11 or 13 arcs when it ends. Next season of re:Zero will cover arcs 5 and 6. So we’re not even at the halfway point of the show right now. Don’t get stressed out about being a little lost, because this show loves to keep you guessing.

2023-07-16 04:54:07 Love this episode a ton, this was absolutely Subaru's worth death so far... and the anime version is less graphic than the Light novel/Web novel. but the fun fact is, after he revived. he still feels his pain for a few seconds, and when he first came back the reason he is having a panic attack and feeling around himself is because he still had the feeling of being eaten alive and it was literally destroying his mental/soul itself. if Echidna had not dragged him into her tea party world, (this is her basically soul graveyard, that functions in nearly a separate dimension that she mentioned previously to answer your question at the end) he would have been entirely broken and possibly unable to ever recover. and to clear up any possible confusion, after Garfiel nearly killed him, he got close the barrier and the crystal necklace he has teleported him to the ruins from episode 2. a lot of time passed and those rabbits came and killed and ate every single living being in the entire village.. so this means Subaru has YET ANOTHER thing to worry about during this loop. and to answer your end of video discussion, my first time around watching this I would be somewhat confused. I found a youtuber that gave great episode breakdowns and explanations with 0 spoilers, and also included any cut light novel content (the light novel adds a LOT of context to scenes) but watching it weekly gave me time to maybe watch it a second time, read comments from other people in discussions and watch the youtubers breakdown before the next episode aired. and gave me a good understanding each week. Also 100% if you guys were watching less shows you wouldn't be as confused it must be really hard to keep track of everything. you guys are doing great on this channel with all of the great shows and content. glad to be here watching you guys.

Aye, they use return by death almost like a detective plot. You are meant to have new questions for every answer you get in this show. I think this season is a bit crazy because this is by far the longest arc in the novel and condensing it down to 25 episodes was hard to do.

@Xxsan - I don't think Desto was being a "downer" though. At least from my experience, I think he made an accurate observation. When reactors watch this episode, fans always point out that the bunny scene was more brutal in the light novels. I don't think he was saying that's a bad thing.

Show would have revealed what happened to the villagers, so that is in itself a small spoiler, it's usually best to not involve information that the show hasn't explicitly explained as Subaru himself truly don't understand where the villagers are at this point in the story in anime at least.

My point with the Light Novel was that people also have to point out is worse which, tbh, would have made more sense as useful information than whatever you typed (not going to sugar coat). I just think it's silly to go on and on about a torture scene that clearly would add nothing to their observation or the story thats a fact. He was obviously from what they saw was being tortured it's weird that people need to point out torture specifics. You're also talking about rude when you are agreeing with the other guy calling the reactors slow. Ironic much?

FYI without spoiler, to be able to enter the trial or meet the witch as he did he has to be in the glowy temple thingy where his restart points currently at with Emilia, aka the witch's graveyard, if he's outside of it even if he's still in the sanctuary's barrier he can't enter the trial or meet the witch so don't expect him to just ended up in a trial randomly. We know the necklace reacts to the sanctuary's barrier so since it glows we know that Patrach the ground dragon throws him somewhere outside the barrier safe from Garfiel and for some reason he ended up where he was in the snow before he walked back in to find all the people is missing.

regarding the comments you made when the credits started rolling, I don't THINK that the archbishops' goals and their respective witch are necessarily aligned. so I don't think you can draw any conclusions about the witch of sloth just because archbishop of sloth and his group were evil. After all, remember that echidna is the witch of greed, and we've actually already met the archbishop of greed, regulus corneas, who evaporated most of crusch's convoy in ep. 1 (I really like his character design so far though, looks cool)
