Yeah we were talking about on twitch how the author is unhealthy so the manga may never be finished. Also I don't think there's enough material for another season for it to not end on a cliffhanger but the anime ends at a good point though

Ending discussion. NO SPOILERS!! HXH is my top favorite anime surpassing aot and demon slayer just because for me the characters hit deeper than any others have. I love tanjiro sooo much and Eren, but I just feel different about Gon, Killua, kurapika & Just all of these characters honestly. This show has made me more emotional than any other show I’ve watched. The story is very beautiful and well done. Its just really good lol and it probably won’t be your guys top favorite of all time but I’m excited for you to watch and enjoy it! 😁

HxH is my favorite shonen anime of all time, and easily in my top 5 across all anime. Enjoy the ride, the character development and world-building are what make this great. Each story arc is so distinct with no filler. Also one of my favorite ability mechanics.

I go back and forth with HxH and Neon Genesis Evangelion as my favorite anime. Also you were right about the author having health problems and the manga being unfinished, but I can't honestly imagine the anime having a better stopping point. If they were to continue the show at any point it would be more like HxH2 in my opinion. The author also created Yuyu Hakusho if you've heard of that, another classic.

Ron was right, hunter x hunter was on hiatus for awhile because the creator got sick and I think he eventually died from it if I remember correctly, but his wife(who created Sailer Moon) is going to take over. I'm super stoked you guys are reacting to this! It's one of my favorites. I think Hunter x Hunter is my favorite anime because like someone mentioned, its a very rounded out show; it has the perfect mixture of feel good, dark stuff, action, humor and suspense.

Hunter x Hunter was originally from 1999, but just as an FYI: The version you guys are watching is sort of an remake/rewrite of the original story. It released in 2011, which is kinda the same release period of a lot of current popular animes like Attack on Titan or My Hero Academia.

HxH manga recently returned at the end of last year after taking the longest hiatus break out of the many but it's back on indefinite hiatus again. The big reason is the author Togashi's health. No one really knows when it's gonna end or even IF it does even reach that point. With where the story is at in the manga, the low rate of new chapters, and Togashi's health and age at 57 years old, it's unlikely he'll be the one to finish it.

true alot of people compare a 148 episode or higher episode animes to newer 24 or 12 episode condensed arcs, also some people are into story and fighting and others only care about fights

Ron, been waiting for u guys to start this to make this comment. HxH isn't your typical "action" anime. Many wouldn't even consider it one. I remember reading one analysis saying many animes write the story around fights, while HxH wrote fights into the anime. There's so much in this that influenced many modern animes today. You won't understand it right away, not after the 1st, 2nd, 3rd arc even. But after u guys finish it, hopefully you'll see why it's widely known as a masterpiece.

There's not really anything to hate about HxH either, in my opinion. It's just a perfect anime to watch over and over again and it's always so much fun. And the balance between the beautiful moments and the dark moments are really good too

So excited that you are starting Hunter X Hunter! Hunter X Hunter is definitely in my Top 5 Shounen anime. It has a good balance of light, dark, comedic, action, lessons to learn etc that makes it a Top Tier anime. The writer is still alive but suffers from chronic back pain which inhibits his ability to draw therefore there has been numerous extended hiatuses for Hunter x Hunter manga. OMG it's so funny your video editor just puts the hiatus schedule chart of Hunter x Hunter from 1998 to 2021 when Michelle ask if it is completed and with the crying+laughing video and the memes. XD

Yeah it’s one of those shows I can Watch different reactions to, and not get bored of it. Whereas with other shows, I just don’t have the patience or attention span to watch someone react to it, even if it’s a show I liked.

Yea hxh is in my top 5 it’s very good. I already watched it 3 times but now it’s gonna be 4 cause they’re watching it. There was an amv that reacted to a while back with super heavy spoilers and they said they’ll forget what happened and so on. I personally think they didn’t forget some scenes which were major spoilers and I’m pretty sure will get them thinking in their head when this moment will happen without actually letting us know.

I started and finished HxH in 2020, then moved to the manga and I must say, it pushes Naruto down on my fave anime/manga ranking. It's left a big impact on me and I'm just sad I didn't start it sooner considering my other favorite anime/manga is Yuu Yuu Hakusho (same mangaka!). Togashi is the GOAT to me.

It's a great series. It's a shame that the manga got hit with so many hiatuses due to Togashi's back pain and health issues, but this anime adaptation does a great job of having a satisfying ending although there are many topics and questions left open. You'll definitely enjoy this.

Bruh, DoS: 2?! My man becomes more and more likeable with every video lol. #ManOfCulture (ps. give wimpy sailor boi a lil credit. Some of the sailors with the captain manning the ship were even getting sick if you recall. I'd imagine they're a lil higher up in rank given the fact the captain asked one of them to man the ship, then proceeded to hurl hehe. I didn't think about that until my 2nd or 3rd watch through, noticing him helping Gon tend to all the seasick applicants. Even now, just noticed the 1 sailor in the "cockpit" was sick af tasked with the steering wheel. It's why I love rewatches, catching lil things like that. I had a low opinion of him as a sailor too on my first watch through and now I can give skinny sailor Katsuo his flowers for his fortitude. No worries and thanks for doubting him so I could pay attention to his character even more lol. )
