Yeah sometimes it's achingly slow. Good news though, the pay off moments in the next episodes are all well worth the wait. Also episode 78, when you get there, has a new opening. I like that you guys watch the new openings and endings when they first come up.

Bleach has the best pacing out of big three, imo. Therefore you should watch bleach after finishing Naruto idk what year :D

bleach tybw is just so much better than the rest of the anime and is short enough they can watch it while doing naruto, I dunno if they'll have the patience to watch the entire bleach anime after marathoning naruto

Sharingan can copy any jutsu that isn’t kekkei genkai (gaaras sand, hakus ice, shikamarus shadows, etc). They talked about this a bit way back in the zabuza vs kakashi first fight.

It doesn't change much in what you're saying, but I just wanna point out that neither Shikamaru's Shadow Possession, nor Gaara's sand jutsu are kekkei genkai. Shikamaru's techniques are available to anyone, it's just that they're too complicated to be simply copied, and they need to be taught to someone by a Nara clan member. Shikamaru's sand control is due to the sand spirit inside him.

Please be mindful of the episode titles in the future. Naruto titles tend to get really really spoilery as the show goes on. Later on it's like they just don't care anymore

The anime pace back in the days can be difficult for people who have watched anime like jjk, ds and aot etc. It's a norm back in the day so it was still fine for us who watched as it aired. Naruto slow pace actually also aims to build up tension for viewers since the show is in a war era time. Of course, the slow pace is also due to the anime stretching out so that they do not overshot the manga which was still ongoing at that time.

I highly recommend for anyone wanting to re-visit Naruto doing a quick google for "Rebuild of Naruto". All eps have been cut and edited into 1 hour episodes with all fillers and flashbacks removed. Its honestly a different experience and a much better one at that.

You should be careful with not watching too many shows or you'll end up burning out and bored. I think it's ok for you to change how many episodes you take every week (it can be more or less episodes). I really want you to enjoy this show til the end.

This is the reason I don't recommend new anime viewers to start with modern anime because they won't be able to enjoy the older ones and always complain about the pacing lol
