Neil is a jerk. I don’t think he is evil though. It is difficult to determine what is considered evil on the sliding scale of morality, especially considering this a shinobi world.

And I said it in another comment but I'd like to reiterate that even if Hinata had kicked his a** in front of everyone it wouldn't have hurt Neji as much as what she said at the end. "Naruto you're a murderer" 😂 when I first watched this episode I didn't realize how you can definitely see this as toxic behavior from Naruto. But in Hinata's defense, in a real battle you can't always just give up "to fight another day" if the villain is about to go destroy a village for example and you're the only one standing in their way

Neji still is my favorite character from OG Naruto, i always liked how shroud he was and all that of things he was saying to Hinata was true, his backstory will eventually be explained
