won't lie, I never liked Ragnar in this anime, so I didn't bat an eye at his death. He was a necessary death for Canute to mature in any sort of form. Being soft in that era, especially when you're trying to take the throne, wouldn't make any sense.

The reason they killed Ragnar was because Askalaad (however the hell you spell his name, lol) believed that Ragnar was babying the prince too much and that he would never be able to become King unless he grew up.
