It always confused me when people hated on this arc cause it’s personally one of my favorite arcs in the “earlier” parts of the series

(You’ve probably read all the comments from the Bellamy episode about why Luffy didnt fight.) But the main difference between Bellamy and the White Beret is The White Beret is actively trying to stop Luffy doing what he wants. Bellamy on the other hand only had differing opinions, no point crushing someone who didnt even have a dream.

It will all be explained but watching only 2 episodes twice a week, you might end up forgetting some info and facts.. Also you guys need to sometimes just watch it as is and enjoy it. I understand you gotta question this and that but it will all come to fruition in time with further episodes. Also I do understand you guys don't want to be spoiled but not reading titles of episodes isn't much. I guess i'm not so particular about spoilers because I read every episode title and watched every new intro as it came out when it was my first time. I tend to enjoy it as much or more with some spoilers. All those spoilers aren't complete as in the intros so it still keep you wondering more about it.

You guys just don't understand and know Luffy enough. As you watch, you will understand. Luffy sees no point in arguing with Bellamy. Here, Luffy is just being his normal self being goofy and annoyed with the white berret police. Your questions will be answered in later episodes during this arc.

Luffy wasn't really inconsistent with the berets, he just said he was gonna beat them up or basically hit them because they were annoying him lol. Kind of like what he did to Coby early on. So to him it's not a fight really but more of a "knock it off" kind of thing. Also the stuff you want explained will be soonish =P

It’s worth remembering Luffy is all about chasing your dreams. He doesn’t kill people because he believes destroying their dream is a worse fate. Bellamy didn’t believe in dreams so he wasn’t worth Luffy’s time, it was only when he attacked and made fun of Mont Blanc Crickets dream that Luffy decided to teach him a lesson.
