The great thing about One Piece's storytelling is that unlike other manga it doesn't focus solely on action. It is more of a story centric manga and when the the reader is invested and ready for the big bad to get what's coming, Oda is more than ready to deliver. One Piece fights are a device to move the story along and not to oversaturate.
