The above video is animatic -> finished animation for three of the more interesting shots so far.  Contains minor spoilers.

Does patreon video not work for anyone?  I will add a youtube mirror if so.

Shot 1 - It's the Wriggles!  I was planning on calling them the Wiggles but added the r and changed their logo to help make it clear it's a parody and I don't want to profit off their trademarks and so on.  I'm avoiding using their signature hand move the "wiggle fingers" and also some of their signature phrases that I otherwise would like to.  This shot was huge btw, four dancing characters, four transformations, and a bunch of other stuff.

Shot 2 - This is only half of this shot, I'll finish it when I get the dialogue for the policeman.  The police car on frame left is a rig, I wanted it to rotate slightly when it's hit.  I haven't done that with a vehicle to this extent before, don't know if its noticeable.

Shot 3 - I looked at a lot of casino carpets, I want to try having an interesting carpet design for this (I plan to distort what I've done across the shots rather than redraw it each time).  I drew him wearing trousers and shoes in the animatic but realised he should be wearing thongs and shorts, which is why there's a note in there.  I want the sound of thongs to be distinct in that shot, I might have to record my own.  I've done no sound effects yet and I haven't started thinking about the music.  It will be a challenge because I can't use any witcher themes and my music software doesn't have the distinctive witcher instruments that they use.

I've written two things I'm interested to make recently:

Pleasure Island: Crab Tab - Someone has put crazy beans in the breakfast buffet at the Pleasure Island resort.  Randy has to find out who did it and bring them to justice.  If she succeeds, Vera will pay her crab debts.

Meth Orcs: Gun Imp - A more or less direct sequel to Inflates you Big and Round.  Fanny Ranger meets her biggest fan while Treshtog is targeted by assassins.  (Also there's a gun with an imp)

Both of these ideas around 950 words which for me is very daunting.  I'm usually comfortable with anything 750 words or less and I know anything more will take a long time.  Both are probably in the vicinity of 4:30 -5:30 in length.

Having just completed an epic 4:30 Meth Orcs I don't know if I'm mentally up for another big one yet.  Also I worry that spending 3 months on a cartoon is what people imagine when they make a pledge on patreon.  On the other hand, none of my recent shorts have gotten any traction.  I rarely regret making the longer cartoons when they're finished.  My sweet spot is 2:30 -3:00, like Where Did the Gnomes Go? , but I struggle to write ideas that excite me that are that short.  Would you prefer a doozy every 3 months or a mix?  (I think I asked this before a few years ago and people said a mix)  I will see how things go with the new Meth Orcs when I upload it for everyone to see.  Gazza of Penrith looks like it will be somewhere betwen 2:00 - 2:30, which feels very achievable although it's quite action packed.

Yep, video works fine since I fixed my issue, can't spoof referrer headers on patreon I guess. I don't care what you make, short, long, I'm just here for the ride. I'd say do whatever you want with your art, but as we all know, if youtube is your job, that's just not possible without concessions. Hopefully patreon gets to the point where you can do whatever, whenever though.
