I'd like to share some finished shots from GDM episode 1 but I've only got a bunch of half finished ones at this time.  The client (an american company called Octopie) liked the animatic of the first episode so that is the first hurdle navigated.

I've been thinking for a while now about whether to treat the four GDM episodes as patreon projects and I've decided not to.  My reason for considering it is that the fee that I will be paid for making the series isn't very high for what I'd like to deliver.  For a while I thought about over delivering by animating something really dense  and beautiful, hiring an assistant animator or perhaps even two, but I realised that while I'd like to be earning more from it, I don't need your pledges to make this series.  Also Octopie will own the episodes, the characters and all the underlying IP involved, so I don't think it would be ethically pure of me to take money from you when the work won't be mine to control in any case (although part of the deal is that I have a non-exclusive license so I can upload them wherever I like including youtube).

When I no longer have a job or a client and I resume work on Falcon Hat or another Fernando & Gooseman cartoon, or another hideous music video, or Meth Orcs 2, that will be the appropriate time to come back to Patreon.  I'll signal it as clearly as I can so everyone has a chance to cancel and no one gets any surprises.  Also I've changed the description on my patreon landing page and also removed the goals except for the facetious ones.

Thank you all of you again for supporting my work.  Honestly a few of the cartoons I made in the three years I have used this site are not very good, but I'm very proud of others.  I'm so glad I made Fernando and the Disk of Chaos, Sweet Sweet Goo, Meth Orcs and Tobey Maguire.  There's a few more that are good but not great and sadly there are a few stinkers.  It would not have been possible without you all.

I'll continue to post a kind of production blog here in the manner I have been over the last year.
