Just a bit of a ~lewd~ opportunity to throw in some world-building. Veronica was born on and has spent just about her entire life on the Capital Ring system, with only a few daily ventures to the surface in order to fulfill obligations... but she's never stayed down there overnight. The Circumferential Ring System around the Capital was one of the first major megastructure projects undertaken by the United Republic Government in order to establish a permanent presence and launch-pad for the interplanetary and interstellar commerce that had taken off in the early space-age. It began as a full-scale space elevator that was soon replaced with much lower altitude orbital infrastructure once the technology to maintain such massive structures in artificial synchronous orbit was developed. It houses several billion full-time residents throughout it's various habitation sections, as well as various space-based construction infrastructure. Furthermore it houses the primary defensive installation of the United Naval Corps.
