Well, howdy all,

Exciting news: Chapter one of Blake is on the brink of release—well, it’s set to come out later today, just as soon as I finish a final reread. And with that announcement, I'm also letting you know that the next chapter for 'Birthright' will drop this weekend. Yeah, I know—I'm not the best at sticking to specific deadlines, but I consistently manage to release chapters by the end of the week(end), so that's a win, right? I like to think so! Anyway, my so-called 'inability' to set concrete deadlines is definitely because I'm committed to delivering top-notch quality. It has absolutely nothing to do with my Tiefling’s romantic endeavors with Shadow Heart in BG3, or my adventures in Enshrouded on PC. Nope, not one bit! I'm always 100% focused. Except for when I'm diving into animation... Okay, confession time: that's progressing at a snail's pace. But, writing? That's in full swing! I'm juggling three major projects: Blake Book 3, Birthright, and hopefully the final draft of Blake Book 1.

I've also noticed something intriguing: Prologue II for Book 3 has garnered significantly more views—or should I say, impressions?—than Prologue I. It makes me wonder if it was somehow missed upon release last week. With plans to significantly expand Niamh's role in the unfolding story, I'm keen on ensuring none of you miss the foundational pieces. Though, the thought of surprising a few of you does tickle my fancy... just a tad.

Switching gears, 'Birthright' is told in third person, and I'm curious about your narrative preferences—do you lean more towards third person or first person? In Blake's saga, I navigate through various perspectives, a technique I believe authentically captures the essence of Blake's tumultuous insanity. Given 'Birthright's focus on multiple characters, third person narration seems to facilitate a more impactful revelation of the main protagonist's identity when the time comes. This method maintains the suspense, a dynamic that might be lessened in a first-person narrative, particularly if I decide to take the bold step of eliminating a character you assumed was the protagonist. I've toyed with the idea of beginning with a first-person perspective for a specific character, only to pivot to third person after her untimely demise. However, I'm wary of potentially alienating readers with such a twist. I'd genuinely appreciate your insights, feedback, or even a bit of jesting—so, bring it on!

Also, that 5K word count goal is such a hurdle. It seems like the moment I cross the 4K threshold, my brain just turns to mush. I'm so relieved I clarified that it's more of a personal ambition to all of you. I'd hate to resort to word vomit just to meet a quota, but that doesn't mean I'm not giving it my all. lol

As always, a HUGE THANK YOU for your unwavering support.

With delightfully dark love and the most murderous of wishes,

Hereafter
