I haven't seen this one in a long time so it was good to rewatch it with you. The ending always breaks my heart. The 1976 King Kong will always be my favorite because it has Jessica Lange and Jeff Bridges in it. Glad you enjoyed it and yes, there were many parts they could have deleted.

JL the guy who was eaten by the slugs was Andy Circus that is the actor who played Gollum and Smegal in the Lord of the Rings, this movie was Directed by Peter Jackson the director of LoTR.

Kong is in love with the girl, in some versions, kong gets a little bit peppee lapew - Harvey winestine ripping off the girls top.
