I am so excited for this one!!! Waiting for dark before I watch. Can’t wait to hear JL scream like a little girl. This one freaks ME out, and I’m a horror pro.

What a fantastic treat for upping my patronage today. Hell yeah!<p>Pedantics:</p><p>There <i>aren't</i> gun stores in the UK. Or most of the first world outside of US.</p><p>Jim dry shaving is so that Cillian Murphy can look good the rest of the film and you don't think about it.</p><p>The lights in the grocery store are <b>on</b> and no one notices because Danny Boyle is a master filmmaker - camera shows you the ceiling and there are no light fixtures, so your brain says: cool.</p><p>Probs JL for not understanding rapists...but you have two hands? <i>2?</i> Damn, I thought I was packing. My condolences to whomever falls in love with you...which frankly seems like everyone with a soul would, cause you're...well you. Ja Love...but keep your two-handed junk away from me. I've got limits.</p>

The infected are not exactly zombies; technically they're not dead (though I do have doubts about this in some cases). Fans argue back and forth about whether to call them zombies or not. Like - heated arguments that get annoying very quickly. My point, though, is that they can die. In the end, they basically all starved to death.

They starved after 28 days...what exactly is a zombie? The first Zom flick - I Walked With A Zombie ('43) <i>doesn't</i> have good answers.<p>Not trying to be a pest, please forgive. 28 is a zombie movie because zombies aren't real and they're ill defined; they're a maggufin for human nature - the people always fight the people in the end.</p><p> A lot of why I <b>love</b> The Return of the Living Dead ('85)...it purposely throws Zom rules out the window...cause that's FUN!</p>

All fans of 80's Horror! CHUD 2 (zero need to see 1, which is okay but meh) is the zombie-narrative equivalent of a Baby Yoda plushy - you'll wanna hug the silly movie. It literally has heart (I maka da inside joke).<p>"MEAT!"</p>

Technically, the old ‘30s-‘40s movies had it right, as far as what a real zombie actually is. Romero re-defined the concept (though he never used the term “zombie” in NOTLD), and some people will not stray from a lot of those “rules.” The infected are zombies as far as I’m concerned, but I’m sure someone will get up in a twist that I said it.

28 Weeks Later is as good, and I think it’s actually scarier. Hard to compare the two. I like them equally.

I totally agree. It does have a different feel to it, but it stays within the great foundation that the first movie laid down. That would be a great reaction, for sure

I believe this was the first major film to have the zombies actually run. Although, as others have said, these are technically not zombies, just infected people, which is why they can move faster. So I guess, zoombies?

This came out in 2003 which was before the 2010 The Walking Dead. The scene where he is waking up in the hospital are the same and when TWD came out there were people accusing it of stealing that scene.
