Why is changing to the $5 tier locked the $1 tier poll (September story poll)?

It makes it easier for me to do math. Basically, I just count every vote in this poll as worth 2 points, while the normal poll is worth 1 point per vote. It also means people don't have to worry about voting in each poll.
