If Mike knew that at that moment he was being watched by a delegation of wizards participating in the competition and watching how one of them, as a "task", had to fulfill the "cherished desire" of a random person. Whether the magician performed this "task" correctly or not - it will be up to the judges to decide. It didn't matter to Mike anymore.
