Introspecting out loud (Patreon)

I see some new faces, hello and I hope you'll enjoy your stay

Took some time to think, and these are some of the thoughts I'd like to share, and maybe get some insight from the patrons' POV

TIME
One of the big things COVID taught me is I won't always have the luxury to sit down to art. My output dipped in 2019 for life reasons, then it went totally poo when the pandemic started. My daily life, pre vaccine, suddenly included trying not to get infected

Inking is no trouble, that's in my bones, the wildcard being the freshness of my pens. Coloring, now that's the time sink. I don't have a regular method so very often I start pretty much from zero-point-dumb

Pandemic is still technically ongoing, so I figure, I need to optimize and be efficient with my process. There shall be much experimenting as I try to hit sub-5hrs coloring a single piece again

CONTENT
since 2017 I've been crutching on MLP to have some basis of regular stuff to put out. Problem is, pone is pretty much sunk with G4 retired and IDW comics not really providing much goodies to work with. By default I don't really have a fandom to sit in... and it's very tiring chasing trends

So for my main, I've been considering OCs for a long while now. I have 12 zodiacs but they need reworking and I don't quite see them being smut stars.

That's what the bordello idea is for, but that too needs work. All I've got it the Madam and a Mouse, and nowhere to place them.

I used to be quite a prolific at making up characters for nuding and lewding, I guess age has tempered the fires previously sustained by hormones. How the hell do old pervs keep their jollies up over the years, I'd like some of that too.

And of course, you can help out too. Like through polls of what to draw next from my dreaded TO-DRAW LIST, suggesting what to try in survey posts, stuff like that. Sometimes I'm paralyzed by indecision, that's where some guidance really comes in handy

RENAMING
I've been thinking about a name change, make this more of a place than of one person. Maybe call it Gao Haus, something snappy and witty to its purpose, almost like a brand. As it is, my online nick is about as fluent as a mouthful of stones.

THE LONG PAUSE
2022 makes 7 years since I started, another 3 makes 10 years and that's a very long time to subscribe to anything. I feel after a decade we could all do with a rest; close shop, rest, and reopen a year later. Patreon has been my booster income, I don't think i'll ever reach the amount to free me of commissions, and it's easier to halt patreon than stop taking comms

who knows though, 2025 is still a distance away
