What are the new features?

You can click on the Patch Notes link in the post to read more about it! Most of the new features are inherited from native 4.0 for this build, but there's a few quality of life changes :)

Hey guys I have an honest question. Currently I'm using blender 3.4 and 3.5 I haven't started using goo engine yet but now with the release of blender 4.0 was wondering if it's time too update it to that?

dillongoo

You can run all blender versions side by side! The 4.0 version will be a separate install you can run separately from the rest!

Thank you was kind of worried that I've been missing out on some important features since I just use old versions. Also, if I may the updated Goo engine won't have any effect on the bloop animation course?

Hi, I'm entirely new to blender goo engine and I would like to learn how to use it to create anime style scenes and characters but I can't really find any tutorials on youtube that help with learning how to use the shaders to create this anime style. So if anyone could help direct me to resources that can help teach me how to use the goo engine it would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Lighterium

ahhh thank you so much! I have been using the engine for a while and I'm so glad it's now 4.0 compatible. My files were crashing and I was getting desperate haha

Hey! Regarding the engine/shader, Dillongoo has a few videos about it on their channel. How to set the shader up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSPU-RaLxrU&t=832s I'd also recommend the BNPR Discord since It has resources that cover how to create 3D models that work well with shaders like this. is light linking in this?

Michael

But Light Linking the new feature in 4.0 isn't? It should be in the Object tab under Shading.

Hi, I am 6 months into doing animations and I have a video project due on December 13, as of right now it's 11/30/2023 and I just bought the monthly subscription. So My question is, how long does making a 5-minute blender anime animation take?

i can't install help

dillongoo

I've updated the Bloop Animation rig to work with 4.0! That's the main difference. Everything else should be the same!

dillongoo

In order to install, simply download the ZIP file, extract it, and then run the blender.exe file within the newly extracted folder! You do not need to install it as an add-on or do anything else. It will run as an independent instance of Blender :)

Hey Dillon, the post says it'll be available on Mac next week (which was last week). Can you post the build asap?

dillongoo

Yes we're working on it still unfortunately! Just running into some issues with Mac hardware and the switch to vulkan instead of openGL. We'll post what we can but can only provide one kind of Mac infrastructure atm!

Hello Dillon, could you please provide a sample scene/ tutorials demonstrating how you set up shaders for the environment?
