Jadzia Dax, Deep Space Nine, and an early sci-fi trans allegory handled with respect

Back when Star Trek: Deep Space Nine initially aired on TV back in the early to mid-'90s, I never really got too deeply invested in the show. In part that was probably because I was too young at the time to understand some of the more politically driven storylines, and in no small part because I only ever watched isolated episodes of a series that relied on long-running, overarching plots.

I still haven't watched much of DS9 but gosh do I want to get back to that show ASAP. Just as soon as we finish Picard. 🙂

DS9's always been my favourite. Shame about that one episode with Quark, though (you know the one).
