I have to give a lot of credit to the writers of the game; making the anime make sense with the rules of the actual card game is a herculean task because THE WRITERS OF THE SHOW didn't seem to know the rules of the GAME THEY MADE UP.

I'm really glad you tried this out. I'd been very cautiously on the edge of REALLY wanting to get into this game, but was hanging on, waiting to find out if there would be any microtransactions involved. As much as I loved Yu-Gi-Oh the card game from ages past, I did ultimately stop playing because getting the right cards to play the way you want was just something I didn't want to do anymore, BUT I loved the shit out of The Sacred Cards on the gameboy advance. It had the fun of the card game with the progression system of a traditional video game; that's all I've wanted for years and years, and it sounds like this might finally be another one of those.
