Hey backers new and old. As you may well have heard at this point I'm trying to make a push with my writing for a few reasons atm and that means getting seriously back into managing this Patreon. So, first up I guess is this piece I wrote for Kotaku about Orange is the New Black and GTA. The article itself was written back in the early summer when Kotaku UK was first being set up. To make a long story short it got misplaced by my editor, then after some poking from me resurfaced in time for the new gen GTA V re release. Been asked a few times about Rhianna Pratchet and Total Biscuit's chat on the same topic too. I wrote this before their discussion but have nothing but admiration for their take on the topic. Similar subject, handled in a different way, well worth a look. Anyway, enjoy me making GTA fans upset by suggesting the series could be fun with a little diversity.

What Grand Theft Auto Could Learn From Orange is The New Black

Women in GTA have had it tough. They've been shown in a wide variety of roles, but never taken centre stage. That's not uncommon in any media, from video games to the silver screen, but a new era of television is upon us and one show in particular sets a fine example for how to write that perfect female Grand Theft Auto Protagonist: Orange is the New Black.
