Hey Everyone!

So April's batch of minis and reward files have been posted up and with them we're making the jump to 32mm scale minis and a new format (fashionably modeled above).  Thanks everyone for your patience as I continue to muddle my way through formatting and QA... :D

My intention is to go back through and update all of the minis that currently have back views to the new 32mm scale and format.

For all of the older minis, as time allows I'll be trying to add back views to them and when I do  I'll also update them for 32mm scale and the new format.

If you really liked the old scale you should be able to return to it by adjusting the "Scale" option in the Print dialog box to 75% when you print these new files.

You guys might have noticed the new Base PDF that was included with this month's batch. The intention for these is that you can attach the minis to the bases and color code them for whatever signifiers you might require (i.e. Bad guys are red, good guys are green, etc)

Oh, AND I've attached the first ever PrintableHeroes Mini Catalog (alpha version). It's a PDF file with links to all of the Printable Heroes minis, their reskins, and recolors. This should hopefully help with tracking down older minis and I'll continue to refine and update it as I add new minis. Feedback would be much appreciated!

Thanks again everyone, happy gaming!

Ah very much appreciated I love it! Ive been hoping you'd do this for a while! (My frequent trying to locate minis via email probably hinted at this a bit!)

Great minis (as always!) but I'm finding the lack of the old style outline box makes them harder to resize and cut out now. What's the reason for taking that part off?

PrintableHeroes

Hey Adam, I was starting to find the box limiting, it meant that miniatures could only be so wide before I had to scale them down to fit within the dimensions and the box's base, that combined with most people just scaling and cutting them out silhouette style was making the boxes less appealing to me. Would it help to have vertical guide lines to follow when cutting?

thelibraryghost

Count my vote for vertical guide lines! I never do silhouettes, only boxes, and I can't describe the blank confusion I felt when I realized that might not be possible.

PrintableHeroes

Unfortunately, as much as I'd love to have more layout options I've found that trying to do multiple different layouts (i.e. black borders, boxes, without boxes, etc) exponentially increase my time spent with each black and white, reskin, or recolor version i do and just starts to get out of hand. So, at the moment my ideal is a one-size fits all format that works for people that want easy-to-cut out minis and still allows for the more hardcore who want to finely cutout silhouettes.

Just want to say I was going to ask you about updating the other backs and I am stoked that you are actually going to go through and do it!

What about trying out the minis folded from the bottom up, rather than top-down as now? They could have a built-in slot base that could be kept for re-basing or used as-is?

PrintableHeroes

Hey Grant, do mean something like this? <a href="https://sirrob01.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/basing-paper-miniatures-2.jpg" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://sirrob01.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/basing-paper-miniatures-2.jpg</a> that you fold up and insert the mini into?

Grant Anderson

Yep, those are the ones. Right now I'm just re-photoshopping the minis to fold from the bottom up with slot bases and using them in slotted rubber bases (quick n dirty option).
