Patreon Made a Change (Patreon)

Hey patrons. I just wanted to let you guys know about an update Patreon has made to subscription billing.

Before this change, and for my settings, you were charged upfront when you first pledge and then on the 1st of each following month. Sometimes, people may subscribe near the end of the month which causes you to be billed twice. 

With the new changes;

  • New patrons will be charged when they join, then monthly on that same date instead of the 1st of the month.
  • Existing patrons won’t see any changes and are still charged on the 1st of the month.

I will be updating my settings to facilitate this change. Just letting you guys get a heads up on this change. Thank you all for your support this month.

You can so CHOOSE not to implement this. I know a lot of creators that do NOT use this because it's scummy on Patreons part and makes billing/payment on your side very chaotic. I would advise not doing this.

I don't want to stop people from pledging late into the month but I set it as to where it's upfront charging. I think it could be a good change where people pledge when they want and the bill for the next month comes on that date. I already changed it.
