Thoughts on the future of Silver Membership and this Patreon (Patreon)
Content
The Patreon was initially set up to help fund The Cyriaan Chroncicles #10. Between this site and our Gumroad, you all have been amazing at supporting this project!
And now, after advancing the game through beta testing, I have my sights on other projects...on the future. It is clear to me the development of CC10 wasn't a one off.
It kind of awakened a thirst for producing tickling content that I misssed. So that means I need to take a look at our Patreon levels and see if they make any sense going forward.
I'm mostly fine with the benefits of bronze and gold tiers. Bronze supporters can continue to get access to gaming updates as we provide them. Not surprisingly, due to the level of support we've gotten on CC10, a second tickling game has started development. As that progresses, we will share more content exclusively on this Patreon for Bronze supporters and above. And you will be given early access to it during testing stages.
For gold, I'm also feeling good about giving folks access to our TickleTown library, which will continue growing monthly into 2023. I'm investing fairly heavily in animation media. And while that gamble may blow up, I'm hoping I can partner with effective studios to produce some fantastic content to give that tier significant value.
But silver has me scratching my head a little. I am in current production for several comic books lines, some of which I'm hoping to release at the end of 2022. Yet I rely on sales of both the current and former releases to help fund their production. Today, Silver tier allows access to all the comic books we've previously uploaded onto Patreon. While I think that's great to help fund CC10, I want to think of the future as well.
Someone suggested I continue uploading our tickling comic library to the Patreon, and just erase them after a month. So there would be roughly 4-5 tickling comics available for download at any given moment, plus early access to the newest comic releases we have at no additional charge. New releases would likely either be on a monthly or every two months cadence, in line with how we were in the old days.
That seems fair to me, but let me know! I want to hear your thoughts on what would make an appealing Silver tier for folks. I want to be fair, provide value to you all, while taking enough money in to continue hiring talented artists and studios.
