I Want Your Patronage. But Drop Me First. (Patreon)
Content
I'll be continuing to make podcast episodes, making them as enjoyable as possible, and releasing them consistently. I have lots more to tell stories about.
The income from this podcast now primarily goes to taxes and some other debts, partially dealing with the influx of income I had in previous years, and the taxes that (ironically) generated. This is all a very nice situation to have - owing the IRS is not the same as owing a variety of creditors, health organizations, and so on. (I do still owe debts from the Kickstarter, but that's a stable, non-interest-bearing debt and I'm paying it down as well.)
This is all to say that your contributions are welcome, and I truly hope they continue.
But.
If the choice comes down on you that you feel, in the current situation of uncertainty and outside concerns, that you need to scale your patreon memberships back, please look at the people you are supporting. You will find, as I do, that some of them are really, really depending on Patreon payouts monthly to make ends meet, to be able to make rent, or pay for food, or be able to do what they do. While I have debts, I am simply not in that situation.
I would rather you drop me first (and maybe come back later) than drop any of those folks.
So please, consider this my permission to step away if you need to, if it will help others (and yourself).
