So, I'm pretty unwell at the moment, specifically with my voice being basically gone. You would not want me to say a sentence, much less a half-hour of talking. So no podcast right now.

The structure of Patreon, where I only get funding if I do things, is actually really good for me - that way I'm not charging automatically and under a burden and guilt of not producing the episodes.

I think of this as a weekly podcast, and there's 4 weeks in a month (except for a few exceptions), so I think what's going to happen is when my voice comes back, I will catch up in podcasts, meaning my plan is to ultimately have 4 episodes for April, even though it's halfway through the month and we've only had the one.

So, since people are charged the same time anyway (once a month), it shouldn't suddenly surprise folks - episodes will just show up in the podcast postings and your clients (if you use an app), and you'll be charged the same. Let me know if this is confusing or an issue.

Bedrest and silence for me.

Feel better, Jason. Looking forward to the 'extra' episodes in a week or two.

Sounds like you need some hemp, oregano, and turmeric. I'll bring some to Kansasfest!

Take care of you, and heal quickly!

Hope the bedrest is helping, and you're feeling better -- or if not yet, then soon! I for one am totally happy with a flexible podcast schedule -- I'm always listening to all my podcasts in an asynchronous manner, as I have time, so often don't even notice if the "FOO weekly" podcasts are "late" or skip a week. (And for the record I'm mostly here for the "tip your archivist" -- the podcast stories are just a lovely bonus :-) )

Absolutely not an issue for me that you're not producing the podcast when you're ill. One thing to consider, I believe patreon allows backers to set up caps on how much they'll back per month, so if you're super productive next month to make up for missing a week or two this month, you might miss a few donations if the overproductivity puts you over that month's cap for some people. Not really anything you can do about that, and probably not a big deal, but something to be aware of.
