The Phone Phreak Episode: The Woods, To All Who Dare, Phreak Philes, The Office, My Ship In The Darkness, The Next Generation, Exploding the Phone.

I really push the book "Exploding the Phone" by Phil Lapsley in this episode. If you've not heard of it or you've always been on the fence about it... if the history of Phreaking interests you, this is the book.

I'm off to California to do work at the Internet Archive and engage in some big projects - I'll be recording one episode while there.

Phone Losers of America

Man, those ASCII schematics...they looked awful but they actually helped you make things. Those were great times.

I've also read "Exploding the Phone" by Phil Lapsley and would highly recommend it. This talk by Phil Lapsley (introduced by Jason!) at The Last HOPE in 2008 is also excellent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkYAZq4r3Yw Ewen

There's also another talk by Phil Lapsley from The Last HOPE (2008) on FOIA requests, which were one of his major sources of information for the book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrQC0JUp1tA Ewen

I loved that book. I work in telecom and often purchase it for clients, vendors, managers, etc. I think it should be required reading.
