When the Door Rolls Up, The Last Cache of Commodore, One More Time About the Manuals, Rusted Amigas, Money Money Money, The Meaning of it All.

A pleasant enough essay about the nature of piles of "stuff" I get offered or that fall into my lap. Why does this happen? What are my thoughts on it? Here's a good starting overview of this aspect of history.

I will say that the Great Patreon Stumble of 2017 has encouraged me to decentralize this podcast and contributions, which I bet will be good for me in the long run - so there's a silver lining.

More than a few people are asking me to consider adding interview episodes to this podcast. I'd honestly like to ask you all what you think of that. I assume it'd be me and someone interesting talking for an hour, and then turning that into something smooth. It sure wouldn't be 20 minutes, and I am of the opinion it's basically another whole type of show. Maybe a bonus scattered here and there? I just don't see how it fits in the format and folks who like the sub-30-minutes running time will find themselves really behind. Well, let me know.

Personally, I enjoy longer podcasts. An hour hits a pretty sweet spot for me, whether interviews or not.

I'd also listen to a "Jason Interviews..." longer show (I too also like 1-hour-ish podcasts), but I agree it feels like a different type of show. I'm enjoying the current "stories with Jason" 30-ish minute format, and it feels like that "just Jason" format is going to be easier to fit into your schedule to produce at the moment (interview shows are a bunch of work, if only for scheduling!). Happy to kick in some extra money (elsewhere?) for a "Jason interviews..." second show if you want to do both -- but maybe that's an "after the documentaries are released" option? :-)

I enjoy many long form podcasts, the longest running 3-5 hours each month. I have a pause button. I'm really enjoyong your 30 minute format so far. Perhaps interleaving interview episodes with Jason Talks episodes? Whatever works for you Jason :)

I really like your podcast how it is now, but I'm all for adding interviews or anything else that you deem interesting. We're all mostly here because we like the interesting things that you like so chances are we'll enjoy whatever you throw at us.

I'd appreciate interviews, but I'm enjoying the podcast as is. If you decide to include interviews I'd appreciate it if it lives up to the great audio quality you have provided thus far. Some Skype calls are just aweful.

Interviews would be conducted in person or not at all.

I'd love to hear you interview people, but I see it as a bonus that would be above and beyond this podcast. So... maybe as bonus episodes? Or just subbing them for just-you episodes once a month?
