I've begun nailing out some of the planning for the podcast, which will start early next week.

I stopped off at a music store and got a pop screen and a small stand for the USB microphone I prefer (a Blue Yeti) so that the screen and mic can be on the same stand. That was $40 and should be the total remaining "cost" of producing this podcast, unless we're talking moving to a studio some time (no time soon).

In the meantime, Episode 1 will hopefully sound better than the hastily-assembled prototype.

Meanwhile, two considerations come to mind from prepping episode one:

Outside Access

I am of the mind that these posts with behind-the-scene thoughts are patrons-only but the podcasts are general release, to gain an audience and potential new patrons, and also to make the world a better place. I'm intentionally not making the episodes timely in any fashion and so while it doesn't matter if they're held off, they might as well go out into the world further and farther as fast as possible. They possibly could even lead to communication about other archiving and rescue possibilities.

Content Approach

For the moment, I'm thinking short-stories and a set of ideas put together for the 30-40 minutes instead of doing one long episode about a single subject or idea. That way people feel they can skip something if they don't have an interest but still have something for the week.

As will always be the case, I welcome your thoughts on these matters or anything else that you have questions about.

Plan is, episode one drops Monday. Please spread the word about the Patreon in the meantime in case you think others might want in on the ground floor.
