Sped it up. NO INTROS AND OUTROS.. coz it's just us here.... hahaha. Tried to make it under 30 minutes so it's easier to watch hehe

So in this video, I showed just the painting process of the main subject, without the usual objects around. But I heard you besties, I'll definitely make another post about references, and objects next time!

Here's the summary and timestamps of the things I showed in the video:

0:15 Reference picture @ parkerkithill

0:27 Simplify face shape

0:44 I’ll observe the space around the subject, turn those spaces into simple shapes and copy those shapes to my painting

1:18 sometimes when you color pick, you don’t get the exact color you want so i usually just adjust the colors myself after the color pick!

1:42 I’ll fill the face shape with base colors

2:42 I usually start with the eyes

3:49 To match with the reference pic, I’ll just observe the spaces around the part (like what i did here on this post)

3:55 For example, you can see that the space between the pupil & lower eyelid is shorter on the photo than what I did

4:01 So I’ll just adjust the lower eyelid & try to match it with the photo

4:57 On this part of the ref pic, you can see the sharp change of color on the lower eyelid, so I’ll do that on my painting too

5:21 This highlight here looks like a triangle, so again! I’ll make the shape on the painting too

6:30 Now that I’m done with the eye part, I’ll use it as a reference point to figure out where to put the other parts.

8:42 I made this part wider than it’s supposed to be so I’ll adjust it to math the reference!

10:55 I’ll do the simple shape method here again!

11:01 Make the nose into a simple triangle shape

18:25 bottom of the ear is the same level as the top lip

18: 53 I’ll keep comparing the placements until i match the whole face

19:04 now onto the next part, the neck!

19:14 Add other warm colors to the face

20:30 finally done with the face, here’s what it looks like with the paper overlay

20:52 next part of the painting, the shirt!

22:15 then the hand!

22:33 finger same level as the chin

22:46 I use different colors for the fingers to avoid confusion when i start painting each finger

24:55 now the bag!!

26:07 next, the pants

27:30 Here I’m finding a background color that matches the vibe of the subject!

27:39 Last part, adding effects, grains and textures

I'll definitely make a longer, complete, vlog-like process video next time. My whole art desk set up is such a mess, I'm trying to move this year, just looking for a nice turtle shell to move into. So for now I could only provide process videos in the dark haha

 Have a great monday besties!!!!!!
