Here's a light and color study that I did using my oc Leif as model and taking reference from a painting from Michael Malm. During this study, I tried not to use the eyedropper tool, so I can train my eyes and try to understand better how the color and illumination works. I want to make more like this. Hope you like it^^

I had to look up Michael Malm’s work in order to understand in what way you were taking reference from him (if that makes sense). Your use of backlight in this image is extremely well placed. The color definitely captures the eye and creates a very relaxing atmosphere. It almost gave that angelic glow, which is no surprise to me seeing as the artist creates religious paintings. I love that you are trying to study from other artists. More often than not, especially in the 3D works, people are stuck trying to develop their work on their own rather than learning from others. Are you gonna call it done at this point?

Michael Malm has amazing artworks that features these kind of light plays and warm colors, which totally caught my attention. I'll keep stuying his work in order to learn from him and improve mine :) This is the painting I took reference from: https://imgur.com/iLSfVhN
