If trump wins and comedy shows are still allowed, do you think there will be another spike in hypersensitivity in audiences? The problem is that if you find absurdity funny, there is NOTHING art could reproduce that is more hilarious than the trump regime. The one problem is that they aren't kidding. At first glance, they appear like the hilarity of seeing The Three Stooges slapping a lady around in a hotel lobby, but then you realize they are actually just beating the shit out of a woman for real. This has left too many people robbed of the basic ability to tell whether someone is "just kidding" or not even in the context of an actual comedy show. My fear (among many) is that if the neo fascists cease power once again, not only will the left not get a second bite at the apple, but comedy will become even more remedial in order to deal with shell shocked audiences. Thoughts?
