It was a bit awkward.

Upon entering Lone man's room, all your fear and worry miraculously washed out of you. You are no longer in fight or flight mode. Only then did you realize that you were alone—with a man you barely knew.

You watched as he walked around the room. He picked up random small things from the floor and dumped them in the bin. Lone man chuckled and apologized for his messy room. You shrugged and told him you'd seen worse, aka your own room. He laughed, and it made you feel warm.

He patted his bed, arranged the pillows, and pulled out fresh new blankets from the cabinet. He told you that it might smell a bit old, but he promised that it was clean. You honestly don't care at this point. Your legs felt like they were about to give up any second now from exhaustion.

"The bed is all yours!" He said. He awkwardly stood beside the bed, like he was waiting for you.

You said thanks. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked away.

He tucked you in bed gently, like you were a kid. It felt so nostalgic to be taken care of like this.

You felt strangely comfortable, like all the nightmarish things you experienced a while ago were nothing but a fragment of your imagination. You yawned.
