Lapikkaat (Patreon)

This style of boots was popular in Northern parts of Finland, and as many soldiers brought their own civilian items to the front in Winter War, the army eventually adopted their own model of "lapikkaat". The shape made it ideal for use in skiing, and many of them could be folded higher for deeper snow.
