This performance of We Are at 18Fes is what got me into ONE OK ROCK and when I tell you I still cry to it every time... MEL YOUR REACTION IS MEEEEE The original video of this performance included Taka's comments before and after + english translations but it was taken down and I am so sad about it because he delivers such a sincere and touching message. I'll share what background info I can remember: 18Fes is an annual event in Japan that started in 2016 (ONE OK ROCK were the first performers), and it's basically a collaborative performance between 1,000 18-year olds 'graduating' into adulthood and a guest singer/artist. You were asking how they're all so good at singing, and the answer is there is an application process -- many of the applicants have dreams of creative pursuits such as being singers, musicians, etc. and part of the purpose of the festival is to support those aspirations and inspire the younger generations. Here are some translations of Taka's words from before and after the performance: "To live by the motto of being honest with one's feelings is something I cherish the most." "Ten years have already passed, but our plan is to continue doing what we do, with the same level of passion, for as long as we can. ... continue to live your lives without forgetting what you're so passionate about."

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 insane!!!!!!!! I actually went back and put this performance on this morning when I was cleaning the house and had tears coming out once again (and I wasn’t even watching the screen). There is such an incredible amount of power and almost “liberation” in the feeling of it. It’s CRAZY!

So I took notes lol. Sorry if it’s all over the place. I just wrote stuff as I watched.☺️ The Dreaming Album: “Blame me” started as my fav song for a long time but as I listened to the album more, “About Last Night” kinda pulled ahead. But I still LOVE this song! The daydream part..always affects me too! I end up making this overly dramatic dreamy singing gesture as I sing it lol. Try and picture it if you will.😆 And 100% the melodies of this song are so beautiful. Secrets - that bass guitar is my FAV!! Most of the album has the best bass beats! Either funky or rockish…always good bass in it. The whole Dreaming album is a no skip for me. I should have mentioned the songs you’d already heard..so the album starts with “One Day” & then “You Problem” and it ends with “The Dreaming”. The songs you watched here were in order from after You Problem. Hope that makes sense lol. I also think you are more familiar with the newer stuff. Like their last album you listened to on your own and did a dedicated reaction to the title song Love. But all their older stuff was mostly done during lives and it’s hard to fully take in each song/video you watch. I’m glad I was able to give you some of my fav b-sides.😊 Autobahn is 100% my fav song on No Limit along with Mercy. It’s SO good! You really should go back and listen to Mercy cause I think if you listened to it without distractions, you’ll be impressed. It’s a powerful and stunning song. The vocals..🤌🏼 IM and Hyungwon produce the best damn songs! I always love a song and then find out it’s one of theirs. Every time.😊 Second “Secrets” song, the sax part at the end made me FALL IN LOVE with that damn song! You know me and saxophones. But also the vocals and IM’s rap especially…👌🏼 I had no idea you’d heard the Sarah Barios/Eric Nam song! I checked the spreadsheet and everything. I’m so happy you love it too!! I’m obsessed with it. I found it on my own in my Eric Nam journey.😆 Small world!!🥰 Glad I picked a live of it.😁 One ok rock - that We Are performance was so impactful! It hit me just like it did you. I knew you’d love it and appreciate it for the same reason. The crowd was so powerful and free! I 100% agree it would have been a spiritual experience! So cathartic. You’ll have to thank Anitra for that one. I found it thru watching a live of hers. Been waiting to share it with you.😊 Heartache - the triangle sounding instrument is a xylophone. And I LOVE it! This whole song is so beautiful. Sorry it brought more tears lol. I believe the Ateez OST came out in September. And to say I’m obsessed is an understatement lol. I LOVE that damn song so much!😁 THANK YOU FOR WATCHING THESE HUNNY!!! THANK YOU FOR LOVING THEM.🥹 You are absolutely right…best feeling.😌 My cheeks hurt from smiling the entire time.😁 Love you so much hunny!!🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘

Just getting to watching this and omg I'm so glad you're a fellow Have We Met Before enthusiast 😭😭 We were one of the lucky shows where he chose to perform this acoustically this year and I was losing it in the crowd. I can confidently say that he's one of the best performers I've seen live (i've seen a LOT) and if you have a chance, you definitely should see him! Psy's picks are all so good, kudos to them. I'm so glad you finally reacted to The Dreaming album! I swear it's such a cohesive, well produced album and the member's voices stand out beautifully in it. And the One Ok Rock sessions ahhh they're amazing. I'm hoping we hear more Monsta X and One Ok Rock reactions in the future 🥰
