Here's a new demo reel I put together this morning. I think it's the first time I've made one in a decade?! Someone asked for it and there was no way I was going to send my 2013 college graduation reel with the janky 3D class exercises. Most of the stuff in here is just from my own indie projects since I don't get a chance to animate much exciting stuff within the industry, outside of Tuca & Bertie... Although there are some cool things I got to do recently, that I couldn't include because they haven't aired yet. This reminds me I should share some of the misc animation I've done for long-dead, forgotten projects.

Also animation continues to progress on Sublo and Tangy Mustard episode 303 "Nightclub"! It's about 2/3 done now and I think it's looking pretty cool. I'll share another chunk of footage on here in a few days after I get back from a trip this weekend! I also need to release the full soundtracks for season 1 and 2 since somebody else has been uploading partial versions on youtube taken from my soundcloud and I'm not thrilled about it...

Aaron Long Demo Reel 2023

A selection of animation I've done. A lot of this is from my own independent projects since that's where I'm usually able to do more ambitious stuff. There's quite a bit of fun recent work I couldn't include here because the projects haven't aired yet. This footage is from: Tuca & Bertie Sublo and Tangy Mustard Basketball & Other Things Fester Fish DMX Meets David Bowie The music is an original piece I did called Funky Switches.

Aaron on the anim market????

Mm somewhat! I'm gradually trying to prioritize my indie work more (Sublo and other stuff) after a decade of mainly doing animated sitcoms and squeezing in the stuff I care more about in the crevices. I'm currently trying to take smaller jobs that sound appealing, rather than saying yes to every big project-- so I can kind of build my industry career around my life and goals rather than the other way around. But we'll see how it goes. This Patreon helps a lot and is already allowing me to devote more time to my own projects, but it isn't enough to be self-sustaining. So I might be pretty hungry in a few months! A friend sent me a potential job that sounded pretty interesting this morning, but the client wanted to see a reel.
