I did most of the key backgrounds for the next Sublo episode ("Nightclub") while working on the ones for Tito's Pants, but I'm doing a bunch more now. Every time I have to draw a city street, adding all the telephone poles and traffic lights is so tedious I try convincing myself "uhh maybe it's ok without them?" but they make a huge difference transforming a BG from feeling like some weird empty 90s video game level into a real city street.

I could definitely go further with the detail, adding bike rings, mailboxes, garbage bins, etc... but ultimately I have to keep in mind this is a night-time shot and even if it's not covered up by the characters in front of it, the stuff in the distance will probably be barely visible anyway! Like I've said before, doing indie stuff on your own means being your own producer and a constant mental struggle between "I could keep working on this and make it better" vs "you still have 34 more backgrounds to draw for this episode, just get it done and keep moving!"
