As is tradition, I've waited until way past New Years to talk about the New Year and plans. :P

I split it into multiple parts because I can't shut up...

Part 3/3

Ideas From a Hat (changes?)

I love this format and it's been a delight receiving ideas and making high-to-low effort attempts at rapidly sketching out the concept, sometimes live on stream. It's not going away by any stretch.

However...

I have debated changing where I collect and how often I collect "ideas" because it's difficult to promise completion of every suggestion in a timely fashion, especially now that I'm juggling against The Bad End and a more-consistent day job. Before, I was doing good at one-to-two sketches per art stream for a solid while, but that's made it hard to make progress on other works.

I also can't just skip submitted ideas or randomly drop an idea. I'd feel icky collecting money and then refusing the work. Patreon is also very strictly against lotteries, which is why I've made it a rule that every idea-per-month submitted is guaranteed a sketch. The randomness aspect is more for flavor, and you're not paying for a "chance" at getting your art. You're definitely getting your art as a patron.

(Also, I love the ideas I received in the past few years, and I'm not taking it away at all )

I don't feel ready to change the format or suggest anything either, but I'll be reaching out to Ideators for their inputs before any action is taken. Probably after a few months adjusting to the new job and focusing on completing The Bad End.

I'm Thinking of Sharing Things

Once this thought arrives, it stays. It sticks, it lingers, it dominates...

I paywalled prematurely and accidentally. It's starting to isolate us from the public at large. What started as early-access had slowly gotten a bit too early to access. And
I'm thinking of sharing things.

Mostly what this means is that I might start doing smaller sketch projects to push out to FA, Weasyl, Itaku and more. All that's propagated has been commissions-only for a while, and that wasn't really my intent.

I'm thinking of sharing things.

I'm mostly thinking of starting with some anthologies to share on itch, so my little unfinished game isn't so alone on there. It will probably start with older "Ideas from a Hat" collections (with Ideators' permission of course!), and I'll work my way from there.

Monthly posts will still be here, with in-progress works and sketches available for patrons at those tiers. What's made public will most likely be a staggered, small subset, similar to what I tried mid-August. I appreciate all your support and will continue to make things interesting to patrons where I can, so stay tuned!

Really, I just want to get the broader weird strokes out there that I haven't had the time to finish. I need to finish things more often before people start thinking...

The idea's new. But it feels old at the same time. When did it start? What if this thought wasn't conceived by me, but planted in my mind, pre-developed? Is an unspoken idea original?

I'm thinking of sharing things.

Yeah... really, that's all I had to talk about.

TL;DR - No big change-ups to the tiers yet... I'm thinking of sharing things.
