Sorry for the delay, there were minor technical problems (hard drive with all working files began to die of old age).

Probably your device don't support h.264 codec. Try to install K-lite codec pack or VLC player.

Wow that is way too new to be dying, yeah. Mine are at 1130 and 1500ish days powered on. What brand were they? I'd really recommend WD Black for longevity on big storage drives

It was Toshiba:) I already took WD blue to replace, but after the upgrade, I will transfer the "work" folder to a capacious ssd and leave archive files on HDD.

Yikes, I will be avoiding Toshiba drives in the future! Just a heads up, WD Blue is their budget series. WD Black has a much better warranty (and thus expected life span)

Bare in mind though that WD blacks run at 7200 RPM, so they're fast (at least for a hard drive), but they're also quite loud. I personally use reds for my storage, though I do have a black with games on it.

Eh, loud is relative. I have two Black drives in my tower and it is very quiet--never picked up on any voice chat or audible when I'm in bed. CPU fans are usually much louder than your hard drives

Fair enough. I guess the newer ones are probably quieter. Mine sounds like a floppy drive sometimes!

Oh, that would be noisy, yeah! I have a 4TB and 2TB that run great, though. My quiet tower fans are all louder than the hard drives, for sure.
