Weekly Report (Patreon)

Good evening,

it's gotten late today, but I wanted to get the bonus scene done before writing this report. You may have guessed it, the plan was not to finish it today, I would have liked to have it finished Wednesday night or at least yesterday.

But at least it's done now. For this scene I had to make some changes to how the joining/leaving to group works around Arenfield. This took time, but what took even more time were the dialogue adjustments I made for Katherin inside her house. (Letting her run around like she did when captured at Calan's rest). And of course I had too many ideas when it comes to the actual animations for this scene. I have been working on some more than now actually made it into the game. When I realized that it would take too long to actually finish working on all these animations I decided to add some still images instead to show these transitions. 1 scene is still missing though for which I already finished making all the images. I will add this last animation next week and then finally begin with Mira's update.

Another topic I want to talk about:
Yesterday we finally got over the 5000$ mark which I had set as my last patreon goal. Thank you all for making that possible!

I had hoped that this would be the case in the near future and have therefore already started with the preparations.
I have talked about this before, originally I had a former colleague of mine in mind who would help me with the work on the game.
However after trying to work with him (I gave him some from my point of view easy tasks) I had to give up on that idea. His heart was not in it and because of that I decided to not waste more time on him as a coworker.

After that I've been looking for someone whom I can trust and who is motivated to actually get something done. Since Just has already been working on the game in the past in terms of dialogue edits and has proven that he is reliable, he was an optimal candidate for me. I can trust him and we have already talked about how a collaboration might look like.
The idea is to have him work on animations, which I then just have to incorporate into the game. We've done a first test for this already, which went well, but it will need some more tasks/training sessions before he will really be of help to me.
I'm hopeful that by outsourcing the animation work to some degree (I will of course still do some of them myself). the time to work on more content will be increased by a lot. Making animations takes up a large part of my worktime. To give you an idea: for the current bonus scene 5 days went into making the animations, 2 days into working on events, 1 day to write dialogues.
I will keep you up to date on this when we're making progress and I'm hopeful that this will result in more content that I can make for you.
